Päivä Tukholmassa, osa 1 / Spend day in Stockholm, part 1

Päivä Tukholmassa ei ollut tällä kertaa risteilyn lisäohjelmaa. Vaan saapuilin ensimmäistä kertaa Skandinavian pääkaupunkiin ihan maitse. Tukholmassa on tullut käytyä useampaankin otteeseen, mutta saapumisreitti on ollut aina meriteitse. Viimeksi purjehtien.

At this time spending a day in Stockholm wasn't part of the cruising program. Actually this was my first time arriving to the city by land. I've visited Stockholm many times, but I've always arrived by sea. Last time I sailed to Stockholm.

Matka starttasi 8.15 tutulta bussipysäkiltä. Arvatenkin olin parikymmentä minuuttia etuajassa, joten käväisin juna-aseman kioskissa ostamassa vettä. Samalla reissulla pisti lehtivalikoiman suomalaiset laatulehdet, kuten esimerkiksi Alibi. Toinen lehti oli samaa sarjaa. Hihittelin itsekseni kotikielellä tarjottavaa lehtivalikoimaa. Yllätyin kuitenkin, että noinkin pienessä kipsassa oli jotain suomenkielistä.

My journey began 8.15 from the buss stop. I was 20 minutes before train leaves in the railway station. I stopped by in the kiosk to buy a water bottle. Among the other magazines I noticed Finnish magazines. Yeps, real quality ones, e.g. Alibi. I laughed for the selection of Finnish magazines. I was surprised that they had something in Finnish.

Ainoa hämmennyksen hetki tuli pienelle matkaajalle lukiessaan infotaulua junan saapumisesta. Miksi hämmentävä teksti "Obokad platser in vagn 2 och 6". Siis varaamattomat paikat vaunuissa 2 ja 6. Hei, ei mun lipussa ole paikkatietoja, onkohan muiden? Pähkäilin tarkoittaako ilmoitus sitä, että ilman paikkatietoja matkustavat vai ilman lippua junaan tulevat voivat mennä ko. vaunuihin. Päätin pelata varman päälle, viedä mahdollisesti jonkun liputtoman paikan ja suuntasin kakkosvaunuun. Ja niin matka pääsi alkuun.

I was confused for a moment while reading the information about the train. Why they have this confusing text "Obokad platser in vagn 2 och 6"? What is mean? Should you go there if you don't have seat information? Hey, I don't have any seat marked to my ticket, how about other? So, should I go there, because I don't have seat information or are those places for persons who haven't bought the ticket yet? Well I wanted to have a seat so I went to coach number 2 and probably took someones place who didn't have the ticket yet. And the journey may start.

Kaikki tietävät millaista on matkustaa Suomessa taajamajunalla. Jeps, se klonksuvan ja kesällä kuuman vanhan junamallin. Vauhtiakin taitaa olla juuri ja juuri sata. Tästä johtuen olin perjantaina hieman harmissani, koska liput InterCityyn olivat loppuneet. Hämmennyin kun raiteelle kurvasi Suomen IC:n näköinen nirppanokkainen juna. Joo-o, junan kyljessä lukee Tukholmaan. Koin vauhdin hurmaa junan kiihdyttäessä lähes Pendolinon vauhtiin. Kyllähän tällainen taajamajuna kelpaa. Tämä juna ilmeisesti pysähtelee InterCityä useammin. No neljä pysähdystä ei ollut paha ja aikaa matkaan kului 1 tunti ja 1 minuutti, siis minuutti enemmän kuin InterCityllä!

Everyone knows what it is like to travel whit regional train in Finland. I don't recommend that. The clanked train that is extremely warm in the summer. The speed is nearly 100 km/h. Because of this image in my head, I was a little bit dissapointed, because the ticket for Intercity train were sold out on Friday when I bought my ticket. I was confused when the train arrived, it looked like Finnish InterCity train. I think this Swedish train looked so mean and "bitchy". Jeps, it says to Stockholm on the train's display. When the train drew away, I experiensed the thrill of the speed. It drove allmost the same speed than the Finnish Pendolino train. Apparently this train had more stops than InterCity has. Well, 4 stops isn't bad and the travel time was 1 hour and 1 minute. So it was one minute more than InterCity!

Tunti kului nopsaan maisemia katsellessa. Tunneleissa tuli tunne kuin olisi ollut nousussa olevassa lentokoneessa ja pari kertaa korvat menivät lukkoon tunnelissa. Maisemia ei niin kovasti näkynyt, koska juna pöristeli maisemien ohi niin lujaa. Jotain sentään näin. Jos me ollaan hassuja, niin on nää ruotsalaisetkin. Rakentaisitko kesämökkisi kirjaimellisesti junaraiteen alle tai muuttaisitko asumaan taloon, jossa takapihallasi huristelee juna silloin tällöin? Kesämökin bongasin, kun juna ylitti sillan, jonka alla oli saari. Saaressa oli puolestaan mökki. Arvatenkin mökki on ollut ennen siltaa. Hieman ennen Tukholmaan saapumista pöristelimme rivitalojen takapihojen vierestä ja ne takapihathan eivät olleet kovin isoja. Jeps yhdessä huoneessa tyttö luki kirjaa ikkunan edessä.

One hour went fast by admiring the scenery. It felt like plain take off when the train passed the tunnels and it hurt to my ears. Actually, you couldn't see that much scenery, because the train was driving so fast. But something I saw. If Finnish are crazy, so are the Swedish too. Would you build your summer cottage under the railway or would you live in the house where trains passed by in your backyard? Yeps, I saw the summer cottage while the train was on the bridge above a small island. And the cottage was on that island. Probably the cottage was built before bridge. Just before arriving to Stockholm, the train passed by the houses whose backyards weren't that big ones. Jeps, a girl was reading a book in one room.

Pääsin onnellisesti perille ja löysin vielä uloskin juna-asemalta. Tässä vaiheessa suuntavaisto katosi hetkellisesti ja arvoin mennäkkö oikealle vai vasemmalle. Myöhemmin selvisi, että olin noussut maanpinnalle World Trade Centerin uloskäynnistä, joka on juna-aseman vieressä. Kuitenkin arvoin mennäkkö oikealle vai vasemmalle. Vasen näytti kutsuvammalta ja tutummalta, joten sinne. Haahuilin pitkin Klarabergsgatania ja ensimmäisen bongauksen tein Klara Norra Kyrkgatanin kohdalla. Seinässä oli hauska kello. Hetken päästä havahduin ja tajusin olevani Åhlens City -tavaratalon kohdalla, jihaa, olin taas kartalla! Päätin käydä Åhlensilla tutustumassa tarjontaan ja kaupassa hurahti hyvinkin hetki jos toinenkin. Mitään en täältä kyllä löytänyt.

I arrived to Stockholm and found my way out. At this point I had no idea where I was. I looked to the right and left. Which way to go? Later I noticed that I was on the front of the World trade center that located next to the railway station. The left direction was more attractive. So I walked along Klarabergsgatan and spotted the funny clock on the corner of Klara Norra Kyrkgatan. After a while I noticed that I stand next to Åhlens City, yihaa I knew where I was. I decided to go in to Åhlens and I stayed there awhile. but I didn't bought anything.Åhlensin kulmalta päätin kurvata Drottninggatanille. Tuumin, että käyn kiertelemässä kauppoja ensin ja menen sitten katsomaan suunniteltuja nähtävyyksiä. Drottninggatan oli vielä täysin jouluvermeissä.

I went to Drottninggatan. I thought that I would do some window shopping before seeing the tourist attractions. As you can see, Drottninggatan had still its x-mas decorations.
Kiertelin kauppoja katsellakseni ruotsalaista muotia. Koska olen luvannut itselleni, että ostan värikkäitä vaatteita, niin enpäs sitten juuri löytänyt mitään. En halunnut enää mustia vaatteita jo riittävän mustaan vaatekomerooni. Alla olevassa kuvassakin näkyvä Souk on vierailemisen arvoinen putiikki. Bongailin montakin vaatetta, jotka olin vähällä ostaa, mutta kylmän sään aikaan järjen ääni paukutti. Ei nyt voi ostaa kesävermeitä! Varsinkin Beyond Retro -osasto oli suorastaan hulvaton. Ja neulojille tiedoksi, osastolta voi hakea inspiraatiota seuraavaan neuleeseen. Hihhih :) Nimikin puhuu jo puolestaan. Osa vaatteista oli hienoja ja osa taas hulvattoman hauskoja. Osaston vaatteet ovat käytettyjä eli se on retro-kirppari :)

I went from store to store and saw some Swedish fashion. I've promised to myself that I only buy colorfull clothes, so I didn't bought anything. I don't want to have black clothes to my wardrobe which is enouhg black. You can see shop called Souk on the picture below. It's a worth of visiting. I saw clothes that I could buy, but no summer clothes during the winter. Especially the Beyond Retro division was so fun. And for knitters, that's the place to have some inspiration. Hihhih :) Some of the clothes were create and some were so funny. The clothes are second hand or vintage clothes as you should say. :)
Päivähän oli tässä vaiheessa jo pitkälle aikaiselle linnulle, joten päätin pistäytyä kahville Helmer's Caféhen. Kahvila sijaitsee Gamla Brogatanilla. Käänny Drottninggatanilta oikealle, kun olet PUB-kyltin kohdalla. Kyltin huomaat kyllä. Sisälle astuessani pullahimo valtasi minut. Hmm... ottaakko päänkokoinen muffinsi vai suklaaleivos? Leivoksia ihastellessani maha murahti, että siirry nyt toiselle puolelle tolppaa. Tolpan takana odottelikin hyvännäköiset salaatit ja leivät. Päädyin bree-leipään ja latteen.

Yeps, I had been awake quite long time at this point of the day. I decide to have a coffee. I went to Helmer's Café that locates on Gamla Brogatan. Turn to right from Drottninggatan when you are standing next to the PUB sign. You can't miss the sign. When I stepped in, there were so good looking buns. Hmmm.... should I take a muffin which is a size of the head or chocolate cake?While aAdmiring the cakes my stomach grunted "go to other side of the pole". Behind the pole were all delicious sandwiches and sallads. I bought bree sandwich and cafe latte.
Kahvilaa vastapäätä oli vallan hauska tilpehöörikauppa. Suosittelen kaikille, jotka tykkäävät räplätä kaikkea mukamas tärkeitä esineitä sinulle -tavaroita. Kaupassa oli kyllä hienoja kynttiläalustoja mm. kukanmuotoisia. Kynttiläjutut olivat hienoja.

Fun little shop locates opposite of the café. I recommend to all who like stuff that you need (at least for now on). There were some fancy candlesticks e.g. shape of flower. Yeps, the candle things were nice.
